On February 4, 2002 Funhog placed the Raptor's Roost Letterbox in South
Mountain Park in the City of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. This
beautiful park has numerous hiking trails, spectacular views of the city
and a wealth of flora and fauna. This box is about forty five minutes from
your car.

To the Trailhead: Take the Baseline exit from I-10. Go west to Central and
turn left. This road goes directly into the park. Park at the end of Summit
Road at Buena Vista.

To the Letterbox: Go west on National Trail. When you come to waymarker 23
take the trail at 320 degrees magnetic. Follow this trail downhill.
Traverse tarmac. You will come to a sandy wash. From the opposite side of
this wash continue on the trail about 85 steps. On your right you will see
a six-armed giant reaching for the sky. The letterbox waits at the feet of
this ancient one.
